Airline tube works good. Look like this picture Bruce Spiegelman Supporting Member. Sixline are supposed to be the best at it, but they are also assholes. What's the damsel that eats them, springers damsel? Kensington Reefer Supporting Member. Yes Springeri damsel. Before it becomes an epidemic Id siphon as much out as you can. Freshwater dips work really well for these guys also. It also means that likely your nutrients are too high, so more water changes less feeding.

They are very hit and miss so don't go for a fish you wouldn't want anyway. That way if it does eat the flat worms its a bonus. That comes from experience with my iridis wrasse who is supposed to eat flat worms, not why i bought it, but doesn't. My six line won't touch the flatworms. Yellow coris wrasse is another option.
I do like the way this wrasse looks though so I might just look into it for the heck of it. I really wanted a 6-line but I heard they hate mandarins and this is the fish I'm building my stock list off of that and the yellowhead jawfish. I have always had good luck with six lines to eat flatworms.
IME they aren't very aggressive in large tanks when they are added after the other fish. Current Tank Info: gallon in-wall build thread is my homepage. I didn't see them bothering any of my corals but who wants worms all over their glass? A lot. Most of 'em died. But my other snails, they're good. Originally Posted by Lynnmw I have heard yellow coris wrasses will but mine sure hasn't. Tried a yellow coris in the past, no luck.
Melanarus though, destroyed 'em all, and I had a huge outbreak of flatworms. Can't find a one now. DexterB Well-known member. Yellow coris wrasse would look good with your stocking list - good temperament too. Just be careful with some wrasse choices. Gorgeous fish though. Badilac said:.
Does it matter what the origin is? DexterB said:. One thing I forgot to mention is I have a bare bottom tank. Do Yellow Coris need sand? How about Six lines? Yellow Coris do need sand. They bury to sleep. Many hunting wrasse that prey on pests need sand.
You could but 2 to 3 inches of sand in a container and try place rock in front to disguise it. I would also like to add that I liberated the idea of the flatvac from another board member but I can't seem to find his post. Sixlines have been known to eat nearly anything. It really depends on the individual fish though. I would only get a sixline if you actually WANT a sixline, and not with the hopes that it will take care of a flatworm problem.
Sixlines are gonna be hit and miss when it comes to getting one who'll eat flat worms. I think all sixlines are pod eaters though Also, I think you can up your chances of having flatworm eating sixline by buying a wild caught one. You can post now and register later.
