Bopara is currently spending his off-season with South African franchise, the KwaZulu-Natal Dolphins while last winter he spent some time playing for Auckland in New Zealand. He explained that playing cricket away from the grind of the county circuit has helped him to develop his game. He may not have been picked for the Ashes but Bopara will be keeping a close eye on proceedings in Australia. Wright is a better bowler and clears the boundary more easily. Bresnan is an 8 rather than 7.
Why oh why are we recalling Bopara again. He has had numerous chances at international level as he continues to fail us. Yes he is a quality county player but he isn't capable of making the step up - its a real shame but an undeniable fact. Give a younger player a shot. How many more chances will Bopara get? He's mentally not strong enough to play for England and I think his inclusion is a very strange decision. Another backward step, Bopara is a proven failure.
An up and coming player deserves a chance. Comment posted by rascal, at 3 May rascal. Last chance to dance Ravi. He should have been more involved with England not less. He'd be the established no. He has been very involved.
If you think he hasn't, I think that says more about his lack of returns - obviously so few you forget he's playing! Words completely fail me on this. I can only imagine Ravi had some compromising photographs of Geoff Miller Otherwise, why on earth would he keep picking him?! Eoin Morgan was batting at No. I think that generation came along at just the wrong time for Ravi as well. You must be logged in to post a comment.
