What is the difference between purchasing module and iprocurement module

I have to give this comparison to client will be grateful if anyone can compare in more detail. They are different modules meant for different purposes. The other major difference is that core purchasing is still mainly accessed via forms while iProcurement is accessed via application framework pages.

Anyone can elaborate more on client perspective that a client should go for procurement or iprocurement in implementation. This is what I want to know that if we implement oracle iprocurement what functionality we will lost and if we implement oracle procurement what advantages we will lost of oracle iprocurement.

We can not capture all the purchasing documents in IProcurement. There is no difference, i procurement is only rich interface with html page for companies to use conveniently. Without implementing, Purchasing module you cannot use iprocurement.

Whatever documents created using forms will be available through iprocurement and buyers work center also. Couple of things here: — iProc sits on top of PO so you need Purchasing module implemented. This reduces lot of work of downloading and maintaining the vendor catalogs. The GL account automatically gets defaulted when you punchout from store. This reduces lot of work later on. You cannot have iProcurement without Purchasing.

Purchasing sits behind iProcurement and creates the PO on the supplier, etc, etc. No Account? Sign up. By signing in, you agree to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Already have an account?
